Arches National Park
It was nice to see a “large” city although honestly, Moab is not a really large city. But there was traffic, stores and people. Just outside of Moab is the entrance to Arches National Park. We showed our Golden Passport and the attendant told us we need a new one. Okay, it would not take any time at all so we now have a plastic credit card size card that will never wear out.
Once through the gate, it is a long uphill climb into the park. The RV was running on all 10 cylinders.
The formations appear immediately and for nearly as far as one can see. Very impressive. The first to come into view is “The Organ”, “The Courthouse Towers” and “The Tower of Babel.” Then the “Balanced Rock,” think you can pick it out?
This is the Skyline Arch. We are getting close to where we are going to camp at the end of the road.
Entering the campground, we don't find a gate as is usual, no one to say, “Welcome”. I drove right past our spot as I had forgotten that I had the number of the assigned site. This caused a terrible amount of time lost.
All of the above were taken as we saw more of the Park. But we had to go outside the Park for laundry and to take care of some maintenance on the RV, dumping of the “black water” tank. Having taken care of business, we drove up the Colorado River which flows into Moab from the northeast.
Heading back to our overnight camping site, we stop at the “Panorama Point” for a quick look and at “Fiery Furnace Viewpoint”, the fourth and fifth photo below. The last photo was taken on the day of departure and is on the “North Window and South Window.”
