Last Night and Landfall
This was the last night on board the Sea Princess. Bags were packed and being picked up around dinner time. Departures the next morning by the passengers would start early, 7 or 7:30 am, depending where the passengers were continueing their travel. Since my sister and her husband were traveling back to Texas, they were one of the earlier departees. This enabled them to travel to Anchorage for their flight home without fear of missing their airplane. Since we were continueing on the Princess land tour, we were in the last groups to depart. We all spent this last night together at one of the lounges.
Once the bags were packed and out of our cabin, we suddenly had a roomy, neater space.
This is the scene from our cabin upon awaking. It is Seward, Alaska, named for the Senator Seward who arrange for the purchase of Alaska from Russia, known as “Seward's Folly”.
We were given the opportunity to venture into town while we waited for our disembartation time. This is, of course, our ship as seen from land.
All check out, no cabin, just waiting around to leave and sitting on cold hard marble. In the last picture is, left to right, Barb, Jackie and Mieko.
