On the Train to Fairbanks
Today we were enroute to Fairbanks. By bus we went to a “train station” — of sorts. It really seemed as though we were just standing alongside the tracks in the middle of nowhere. The train came, it stopped, the conductors set some steps in place and we got onboard. It was a long process for no apparent reason other than “this is the way we do it here”. It was a bright sunny afternoon and it was hot. We left the Denali area and passed by the lodge where we had just stayed. This first photograph is of the lodge followed by shots of the glacier fed Nenana River and other views from the train.
We did not really see much wildlife but some sharp eyes spotted these two moose. It took quick action with the camera to record this siting. While it appears that the sun would soon set, it did not. In fact the more north we went the more hours of daylight that we experienced.
